More About Us

Beth - I'm a mother of 3 children ranging in age from 27 to 16, one great daughter-in-law, and one slightly neurotic rescue dog. A new addition is coming to our family in late October of 2013. My eldest son and his wife are expecting their first child, a little boy. Professionally, I spent more than a decade in special education.

I have been enjoying wines for years, but really began studying and learning about wines in earnest about five years ago. I also enjoy cooking, exercise, and traveling (especially to wine country destinations).

Lisa -I'm a mother of 2 teens- my 19 yr old daughter is a sophomore in college and my 16 yr old son is a Junior in high school. Our two Australian Shepherds would be great "wine dogs" because they enjoy greating friends at the front door.  After being in the corporate world for 14 yrs, I've enjoyed being a SAHM for the past eleven years.

My husband loves to cook, therefore I  enjoy finding great wines for pairing (or just enjoying with my two wine buddies!). After several trips to California's wine country, I'm ready to venture to new locations and learn more. My next venture will be seeking new wineries in Texas where we will be heading "back home" in a couple of years when our son graduates.

Mary Jo - I am the proud mother of 4 young children.  I have three girls and a boy, ranging in age from 11 down to 1 (last one was the boy!). We also have our wonderful goldendoodle, The Bumble, who absolutely loves when the ladies come over for wine school.  Before I became a Wino (or maybe what caused me to become a Wino), I was a registered nurse in the operating room and, after that, an attorney, specializing in the defense of toxic tort and medical malpractice cases.

I am blessed to be on this wine journey with two amazing ladies who make "school" more fun than ANY school I have ever attended.  When not enjoying wine, I like to read, travel, make crafts and cook.
