  • Wine:  Brick House 2010 Cascadia Chardonnay
  • Vintage:  2010
  • Description:  A beautiful light golden color, this delicious wine has orchard fruit and a hint of vanilla on the nose. In the mouth a lovely juicy wine with bright citrus and a perfect touch of tartness. Lovely finish with mineral notes. Has aged well from our visit to Oregon 2 and a half years ago. Paired wonderfully with our salmon for dinner.

  • Wine:  Artezin Zinfandel Mendocino County
  • Vintage:  2012
  • Description: On the nose delicious red fruit, spice and black pepper. A wonderful mouth feel. Definitely not an over the top fruit bomb Zin that sometimes comes out of California. This is a lovely balanced wine with a touch of cherry.

  • Wine:  Mauritson Rockpile Cemetery Zinfandel
  • Vintage:  2010
  • Description:  The nose is full of deep, rich, dark fruit with a bit of pepper - smells like a log cabin surrounded by a wet forest floor. The mouth on this Zin is rich, with a nice balance of acidity and a delightful spice on the finish.
  • Review: My husband and I loved this wine! This is not the "over the top" fruit bomb that you see with some California Zinfandels. This is an elegant version of one of my favorite varietals. Also, a great ,winery to visit if you are in Healdsburg, CA. Unfortunately this wine is sold out, but I recommend trying any of their wines if you are a Zinfandel fan! Beth

  • Vintage:  2010
  • Description:  The nose of this deep ruby red wine is full of dark berries, spice, and a hint of tobacco. This full bodied red blend, consisting of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Mourvedre, is full of fruit up front with an enjoyable spicy finish.
  • Review:  I anticipate the arrival of this easy drinking red blend each Fall as the weather cools. The tannins are nicely balanced and the spicy finish warms you to the core on a chilly evening. Enjoy alone or with a hearty dinner. A great match beside a cozy fire. Grab it while you can, this wine is not available year round! Beth

  • Vintage: 2010
  • Description:  It is ruby with a touch of brown.  On the nose, it is earthy and toasty.  On the mouth it is wonderfully smooth and rich, with an earthy, fruitiness and an amazing, lingering finish.  This is truly an amazing wine and is worth a try!
  • Review: This wine is delicious!! It is a great wine that can be enjoyed with food or alone!  I enjoyed it while I was making baked ravioli and while I was eating said ravioli!  You cannot help but enjoy this wine.  It has character and can't be beat for $34!

  • Description: Light straw color with cirtus on the nose.This 100% un-oaked Chilean Chardonnay features tropical flavors and hints of citrus that melt together with a smooth creamy finish leaving you craving another glass. Really.
  • Review: Although this wine would be great as a sipper alone with some good company, I was serving salmon for dinner and thought I would see how it paired.  It was delicious! The flavors just popped! And great for the price. Lisa

Bodegas Barco de Piedra Ribera del Duero
  • Wine:  Bodegas Barco de Piedra
  • Vintage:  2011
  • Description:  A wonderful earthy, nose with black fruit, spice, and a some notes of leather. This medium bodied, 100% Tempranillo wine has wonderful fruit up front with a nice bit of acidity and a long, spicy finish.
  • Review:  My husband and I both enjoyed this wine. This balanced wine wasn't over oaked and had a nice balance of tannins. I love the fruit up front and spicy finish. I think it would pair nicely with pizza, steak, and pork. A wonderful wine for the price. Definitely I will be heading back to the store to grab a few more bottles at this great sale price. Beth

Caymus Cabernet


  • Wine:  Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley
  • Vintage: 2010
  • Description: On the nose are aromas of oak and earthiness.  The nose is an amazing preview to the incredible flavors that await on the mouth.  The mouth holds dark fruits and oak, with hints of vanilla.  The tannins are perfectly balanced and the finish rounds out the "Caymus experience."  This wine never disappoints.
  • Review:  This wine is a favorite in our house (and when we are out!)  It is consistently delicious and is truly a wine I find myself savoring to the very last drop.  While pricey, it is worth it. Mary Jo

Decoy Cabernet

  • Wine:  Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon -Sonoma County
  • Vintage: 2011
  • Description: Deep rich ruby in color with dark fruit aromas on the nose with a little oak barrel on the end.  On the mouth was definitely dark berries, as well as, a little earthiness and a hint of spice.  Perfect amount of tannins too.
  • Review:  This wine is perfect for any occasion but for the price it's good for just about any day of the week.  Crafted from the tradition and style of the Duckhorn Vineyards, you know it's going to be good.  Paired with beef tips in a red wine sauce over pasta, it just melted in your mouth. It was like drinking a little bit of heaven :). Lisa

Chappellett Chardonnay

  • Wine:  Chappellet Chardonnay
  • Vintage:  2011
  • Description:  A beautiful light golden yellow wine in the glass. On the nose I found aromas of pear, vanilla, and slightly spicy oak. The palate is filled with pear, apple, butter, a hint of citrus and mineral. The finish is long and luscious.
  • Review:  Wow! This wonderful wine is one that we brought back with us from our recent trip to California. I wish I had brought back more. This Chardonnay has the perfect balance of fruit and butter. The finish is to die for - long and rich. An elegant wine, even when paired with my microwave popcorn. I can only dream how wonderful it would be with crab cakes or lobster! Beth

Beronia Rioja Reserva


  • Wine:   Beronia Rioja Reserva
  • Vintage:   2006
  • Description:  This brick hued red is full of complex aromas on the nose with a sense of spice that you know will be delicious on the mouth.  Beronia is a medium-bodied wine with balanced tannins.  It is aged in French and American oak barrels, which is evident as it finishes, and quite nicely, I might add.
  • Review:  This delicious wine is a favorite of the Stay At Home Winos and was part of the recent blind tasting class we hosted at Fezziwigs Market.  At approximately $21, this Spanish red is wonderful alone or paired with anything from cheddar cheese to salmon to hamburgers!

Brick House Cuvee du Tonnelier
  • Wine:  Brick House "Cuvee du Tonnelier" Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir
  • Vintage:  2010
  • Description:  . This delicious Oregon Pinot Noir has a very light ruby color. Very light on the nose with hints of cinnamon and dark berries.  With an earthiness on the pallet reminding me of the forest floor.
  • Review:  I just love Oregon Pinots. They seem to have a distinct mouth compared to California Pinots. I have enjoyed this one a few times, most recently with friends sitting by the pool on a pleasant evening.  It has also paired well with pork tenderloin on other occasions.  At a cost of about $45 it is definitely one to savor.  Lisa

Martorana Chardonnay
  • Wine:  Martorana Family Winery Dry Creek Valley Chardonnay
  • Vintage:  2011
  • Description:  A beautiful yellow gold in color, with vanilla, oak, and pear present on the nose. This delightful wine has a nice balance between the oak, fruit, and acidity.
  • Review:  My husband and I both enjoyed this lighter bodied Chardonnay that we paired with crab cakes. It was a match made in heaven. I'm so glad we brought this back with us from our last trip to California! A wonderful wine to sip alone or pair with seafood and chicken. Beth

  • Wine:               Merryvale Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Vintage:          2007
  • Description:  On the nose, the black fruit and floral aromas jump into your nose and it is difficult not to begin drinking immediately!  On the palate, minerality abounds and the black fruit that was so apparent, fills your mouth and continues into a wonderful velvety finish that makes you close your eyes and enjoy every single second.
  • Review:           What a pleasure this wine was to enjoy!  At approximately $59 per bottle, obviously this isn't a wine one could enjoy every evening.  This is an exceptional monthly wine that will make you and your guests (if you choose to share) begging for you to open the next bottle!  I give this wine 4.5 out of 5 corks!
